Zululand Tourism is designed to help you find a place in Zululand that suites your budget and taste, but also includes the very essence of the Zulu Kingdom, it’s activities, history and Zulu culture.

We invite you to explore this land north of the Thukela River and find out about the rich, history, social customs and craftsmanship of the Zulu peoples, in their land we call Zululand.

This is the place in Africa where many clans and tribes came together hundreds of years ago to be moulded into a great nation.   Your understanding of the Zulu people will be broadened by a visit to the KwaZulu Cultural Museum at Ondini, however, if you take time to speak to the staff working in the various accommodation establishments, or take a good look at the people working at the Roadside stalls and shops that are filled with their home-made clay pots, beadwork, wood carvings, reed and grass baskets and mast, you will discover the talents and hidden treasure they posses.

Bird lovers should make time to travel along the Zululand Birding Route, which offers a sighting potential of more than 600 species of birds.

The Zululand region is a place of diversity and down-to-earth hospitality, the Zululand Tourism experience is rewarding and your time here could include evenings around a campfire, listening to stories, catching tiger fish, viewing the Big Five, walking in the mountains valleys and forests, taking a battlefield tour to sites where Zulu warriors earned their reputation as a nation of fearsome fighters, visiting rural markets or simply taking a boast cruise on one of the lakes, dams or estuaries in the region.
